Global Health is a “cross-discipline” for study, research, and practice with the goal of achieving equity in health access for all in the world. It focuses on trans-national issues, determinants and solutions; involves various disciplines in the field in health sciences and beyond; promotes cross-disciplinary and multi-sectoral collaboration. The main objective is to enable the deepening of knowledge towards solutions of major contemporary global health issues across disciplines and sectors, and from an international perspective. Global health pursues the understanding and analysis of health problems with a special focus on economic and social determinants of health in an effort to identify innovative solutions that transcend sectoral approaches and promote multi-disciplinary interventions.
The International Workshop is promoted by the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research in Health Science (MACH), an international leading centre for health research with a global and multidisciplinary perspective, including a special interest in infectious diseases. Being focused on “global health”, this event is also the final act of our second-level, Post-Graduate Master in Global Health offered by the MACH Centre of the University of Milan, with contributions by over 50 experts and teachers from different faculties of our and other prestigious universities, research institutions and organizations from Italy and worldwide.
